Custodial Worker

Responsibilities

• Dusts chairs, tables, desks and other furniture; moves furniture as required to perform duties
• Washes windows, walls, woodwork, bathrooms, tubs and bowls
• Sweeps, mops and washes floors; strips and waxes floors
• Cleans and maintains building exteriors
• Gathers and disposes of refuse
• Cleans and polishes furniture and brass
• May perform or assist in minor repairs
• May perform maintenance chores such as painting or snow removal
• May operate a school bus if physically fit, qualified, and properly licensed
• May make deliveries and run errands
• Performs related work as required

Requirements

• Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions
• Ability to get along well with others
• Thoroughness, punctuality, and cleanliness
• Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position

Civil service rules and regulations apply.

Pay

$35,638 - $41,548 in accordance with the BOCES Support Staff Association Agreement Contract
