Custodial Worker.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive cleaning of classrooms, education laboratories, computer rooms, offices, hallways, dormitory/residential, and restroom facilities.
• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and replenishes supplies; cleans spills, drinking fountains, mirrors, tables, walls, fixtures, blinds, and light fixtures.
• Empties trash cans and relines them with liners.
• Sweeps, mops, steam cleans, waxes, polishes, and buffs floors.
• Vacuums and shampoos carpets and rugs.
• Keeps all buildings, parking lots, and surrounding areas clean of debris and litter.
• Ensures appropriate and necessary levels of inventory are on hand at assigned areas; orders necessary supplies and materials, and maintains accurate records of received and distributed items.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• A background security investigation will be required for all new hires; appointment is subject to successful completion of the investigation and favorable adjudication.
• Must serve a 2-year trial or 1-year probationary period during which fitness and continued employment will be evaluated.
• Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must be registered under the Military Selective Service Act and the Defense Authorization Act of 1986.
• Valid driver’s license is required, as the incumbent may be required to operate a government-owned or leased motor vehicle as an incidental duty.
