As a Custodial Worker with the Department of Human Services, you will help keep essential areas clean, organized, and safe for everyone in the facility. Your work supports daily operations and strengthens the comfort of all who rely on the hospital.
Responsibilities
- Surface Cleaning: Clean and wipe fixtures, furnishings, and surfaces to support a sanitary environment
- Floor Care: Sweep, wash, and maintain indoor and outdoor walkways, ramps, and entrance areas
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and clean housekeeping equipment to ensure safe and effective operation
- Supply Management: Maintain housekeeping closets by organizing equipment, labeling containers, and monitoring supplies
- Laundry Assistance: Assist with pick-up and delivery of laundry items throughout the institution on assigned days
- Outdoor Upkeep: Perform snow and ice removal to maintain safe walking areas
Requirements
You must be able to perform essential job functions. A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
Pay
In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
Schedule
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with rotating weekends and a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs. Overtime: As needed. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
