Responsibilities
- Supervise, direct, and participate in the work of subordinate custodial personnel.
- Complete works orders as soon as they are received.
- Cover shifts and perform general custodial duties when there are staffing shortages.
- Provide professional training to custodial staff on cleaning activities, including SDS of all products and hazardous substances.
- Maintain proficiency in all techniques and equipment used by the custodial staff.
- Inspect all buildings for cleanliness, complete pass down logs, and report unusual occurrences to the manager.
- Evaluate the need for minor equipment repairs and make recommendations to the manager.
- Ensure custodial closets remain locked and keys are properly signed in and out.
- Walk entire zone nightly inspecting employee productivity and building progress, sharing findings with the Account Supervisor or Manager in real time.
- Ensure equipment is left clean and ready to use at the end of the shift.
- Follow safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and other safety requirements.
- Perform bio-waste cleaning using proper procedures and follow infection control practices.
- Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ensure custodial staff is dressed in proper uniform attire.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 years of Janitorial/Cleaning experience.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning or polishing agents.
- Knowledge of Safety Ordinance and Regulations.
- Knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Ability to understand documents such as Scope of Work and Procedure Manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak, write, and read English.
