Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate custodial operations to ensure all facilities remain clean, safe, and well maintained.
  • Oversee daily workflows, assign tasks, and provide training and guidance to custodial staff.
  • Monitor cleaning standards, enforce safety procedures, and promptly address sanitation or general maintenance needs.
  • Manage cleaning supplies and equipment in partnership with Facility Operations leadership.
  • Arrange work schedules, assign work areas, conduct inspections, and oversee preparation and cleanup for special events.
  • Interview, hire, train, discipline, and evaluate staff performance.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure expenditures remain within budget.
  • Recommend equipment or material replacements as needed.
  • Identify and report facility or equipment repair needs to prevent further damage or costly repairs.
  • Assist with hands-on cleaning tasks such as dusting, scrubbing, waxing floors, vacuuming carpets, and washing windows and walls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, including OSHA requirements and safe chemical handling.
  • Knowledge of basic facility maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of scheduling, staffing, and workflow planning.
  • Knowledge of inventory control for custodial supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, and arrange furniture, equipment, and other objects.
  • Ability to remove ice, snow, and debris from sidewalks, streets, and grounds.
  • Skill in supervising and training custodial staff effectively.
  • Skill in organizing daily and long-term cleaning operations.
  • Skill in conducting inspections to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Skill in problem solving operational issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Skill in communicating clearly with team members and management.
  • Skill in using facility management software or digital tools for scheduling, work orders, and reporting.
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adjust staffing based on needs.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle equipment as needed for custodial tasks.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and resolve interpersonal issues.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours weekly.
