CUSTODIAL OPERATIONS MANAGER

About the role

Goodwill Southeast Georgia is seeking a hands-on Custodial Operations Manager to lead custodial operations at contracted worksites. Ideal for a working supervisor or facilities leader who enjoys managing teams, maintaining high cleaning standards, and ensuring operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily on-site leadership to custodial teams, ensuring contract requirements are met while maintaining safe, efficient, and high-quality service.
• Supervise and coach team members—including individuals with disabilities—while ensuring the worksite meets performance, safety, and quality standards.
• Lead Custodial Operations
• Provide on-site supervision of custodial teams at assigned contract locations
• Ensure cleaning standards and contract requirements are consistently met
• Inspect work areas to ensure quality, safety, and compliance
• Cook up daily work assignments and staffing coverage
• Support & Develop Team Members
• Train new employees in custodial procedures, safety practices, and equipment use
• Coach team members to improve performance and productivity
• Support employees with disabilities by providing guidance and accommodations when appropriate
• Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment
• Maintain Safe & Efficient Operations
• Monitor proper use and maintenance of custodial equipment
• Ensure all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines are followed
• Maintain supply inventory and coordinate ordering as needed
• Respond to workplace incidents and complete required documentation
• Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities
• Approve daily timekeeping and maintain employee records
• Monitor contract performance and report issues to the Operations Manager
• Aid in documentation, reporting, and operational planning
• Support quality control initiatives to maintain high service standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 3 years of custodial or floor care experience
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience
• Knowledge of custodial equipment, chemicals, and cleaning procedures
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and MSDS
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Additional Qualifications

• Experience supervising custodial teams at large facilities or contract sites
• Experience training or supporting individuals with disabilities
• Military leadership experience
• Experience with government or facilities service contracts
