About the role
Goodwill Southeast Georgia is seeking a hands-on Custodial Operations Manager to lead custodial operations at contracted worksites. Ideal for a working supervisor or facilities leader who enjoys managing teams, maintaining high cleaning standards, and ensuring operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily on-site leadership to custodial teams, ensuring contract requirements are met while maintaining safe, efficient, and high-quality service.
- Supervise and coach team members—including individuals with disabilities—while ensuring the worksite meets performance, safety, and quality standards.
- Lead Custodial Operations
- Provide on-site supervision of custodial teams at assigned contract locations
- Ensure cleaning standards and contract requirements are consistently met
- Inspect work areas to ensure quality, safety, and compliance
- Cook up daily work assignments and staffing coverage
- Support & Develop Team Members
- Train new employees in custodial procedures, safety practices, and equipment use
- Coach team members to improve performance and productivity
- Support employees with disabilities by providing guidance and accommodations when appropriate
- Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment
- Maintain Safe & Efficient Operations
- Monitor proper use and maintenance of custodial equipment
- Ensure all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines are followed
- Maintain supply inventory and coordinate ordering as needed
- Respond to workplace incidents and complete required documentation
- Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities
- Approve daily timekeeping and maintain employee records
- Monitor contract performance and report issues to the Operations Manager
- Aid in documentation, reporting, and operational planning
- Support quality control initiatives to maintain high service standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of custodial or floor care experience
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of custodial equipment, chemicals, and cleaning procedures
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and MSDS
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Additional Qualifications
- Experience supervising custodial teams at large facilities or contract sites
- Experience training or supporting individuals with disabilities
- Military leadership experience
- Experience with government or facilities service contracts
