About the role
You will coordinate assigned school curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices under the direction of senior school leadership. This role involves ensuring compliance with COMAR regulations, the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), as well as the implementation of state and local school system curriculum and evidence-based practices in assessment and instruction.
Responsibilities
- Assisting teachers in implementing curriculum that meets the diverse needs of all students and includes on-going evaluative measures.
- Supporting teachers in selection of informal and formal assessments and conducting formal assessments when appropriate.
- Providing constructive feedback and professional development opportunities to teachers and other staff.
- Ensuring use of evidence-based instruction and student engagement strategies in all classrooms.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in special education.
- Must possess or demonstrate eligibility to apply within 30 days of start date, MSDE Professional License (PL) in secondary education or special education.
- 4 years of related experience.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $56,160 minimum - $95,513 maximum. Pay is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
