Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with the NH Pyramid Model.
- Support teachers in planning engaging, play-based learning experiences.
- Ensure curriculum reflects best practices in early childhood education.
- Pursue grant opportunities to sustain and enhance quality programs and staff professional development.
Teacher Coaching & Development
- Provide classroom coaching and mentorship for teaching staff.
- Conduct regular classroom observations with checklist.
- Provide feedback to strengthen instructional practices.
Assessment & Child Development Support
- Encourage use of child portfolios and developmental documentation.
- Collaborate with teachers and families on child development goals.
Classroom Quality
- Ensure classrooms demonstrate positive teacher-child interactions.
- Establish clear routines and transitions.
- Implement play-based learning environments.
- Adopt inquiry-based learning experiences.
- Schedule appropriate visual schedules.
- Schedule and provide appropriate enrichment experiences.
Professional Development
- Facilitate staff training on curriculum and classroom practices at staff meetings.
- Support teachers in implementing YMCA and NAEYC standards.
- Participate in professional learning communities with staff.
Family Engagement in Learning
- Promote family involvement in children’s learning and development.
- Encourage communication between teachers and families regarding child progress.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience in early childhood education.
- Experience coaching or mentoring teachers preferred.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices, Pyramid Model, and NAEYC standards.
- Strong facilitation and professional development skills.
