Cultuur Meetup Zeeland

About the event

Each year, Cultuurkwadraat organizes the Cultuur Meetup Zeeland for the entire cultural sector in Zeeland. In 2026, this Meetup took place on April 26 at the Bevrijdingsmuseum Zeeland. The date for the 2027 edition will be announced here once confirmed.

On March 26, 2026, the Cultuur Meetup Zeeland was held as a revamped knowledge-networking day. The Bevrijdingsmuseum Zeeland hosted the event, which began with opening remarks from Johan Aalberts, newly appointed Deputy of the Province of Zeeland since February 27. Tessa Cramer, a futurist and sociologist, delivered an inspiring keynote, encouraging participants to apply imagination and embrace uncertainty to drive change.

Program highlights

• Workshops and masterclasses by speakers from organizations such as Stichting DEN, De Kunstenbond, Filiaal Theatermakers, Filmhub Zuid, and Méér Muziek in de Klas, covering themes like cultural strengthening, participation, education, and academy.
• Networking moment and dinner, allowing participants to engage with each other and various cultural organizations.
• Pre-event brainstorming session on Zeeland 2050, where around 45 attendees discussed the future of culture in Zeeland and its role in shaping the region’s development over the coming decades. A recap of this session is available at zeeland2050.nl.

Feedback and outcomes

Participants rated the Meetup as valuable and inspiring, with standout elements including several sessions, the venue, and the dinner. Feedback from the evaluation will be incorporated into the planning of the 2027 edition.
