About the role
Hands on training opportunity for someone to learn various aspects of the Culinary department and hotel business. This position is a "utility player" who will rotate throughout our various Food & Beverage outlets and positions based upon business need.
Essential Functions
- Flexible in working various entry level service positions within the property.
- Position will rotate among banquet, restaurant, in room dining culinary experiences.
- Attend to and anticipate guest's needs.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in scheduling.
- Demonstrate excellent teamwork.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Operations Leader.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of food & beverage operations experience required
- Previous cafeteria and/or entry-level culinary experience preferred, ideally within a hotel environment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and across departments
- Demonstrates a calm, professional, and welcoming demeanor when handling internal questions or concerns
- Basic math skills required to understand and execute recipes and measurements accurately
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to safely operate kitchen equipment (knives, spatulas, tongs, etc.)
- Ability to work around a variety of cleaning chemicals and respond appropriately to hazardous situations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, including the duration of a full shift
- Frequent bending, reaching overhead, and squatting required
- Ability to lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 30 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance
- Ability to push, move, or transport items (up to 70 lbs) using a hand cart
- Ability to stoop and perform repetitive physical tasks as needed
