About the role
Average of 3-5 years of dining service experience required, with comprehensive knowledge of service techniques, resident relations, plate presentation, sanitation, food handling, and special functions.
Responsibilities
- Greet and seat residents and guests in all dining venues and at special function
- Circulate throughout all dining venues during meal periods to respond to questions, address concerns, and ensure an excellent resident experience
- Supervise and support dining service personnel to ensure proper service techniques, sanitation standards, and operational procedures are consistently followed
- Maintain knowledge of server-side work responsibilities for each location and assign appropriate side work to all scheduled servers
- Oversee the closing of dining venues, ensuring side work, cleaning, and station setups are completed properly
- Implement, manage, and optimize culinary service systems, including processing resident charges, updating daily menu slides, and posting dining announcements
- Supervise and assist with the setup, service, and breakdown of special functions in coordination with kitchen staff and other departments
- Step in during peak mealtimes to help with bussing, serving, or other tasks as needed
- Provide training and orientation for new dining service staff to uphold department standards
- Maintain knowledge of allergens and ensure all daily menu items are accurately labeled
- Aid with operational paperwork, check-outs, and menu updates as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with email, internet navigation, and common office software
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work well with individuals of all ages
- Ability to take oral and written instruction well, write legibly, and work effectively in a team environment
- Valid state driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
- Must be 18 years of age or older, consistent with applicable federal and New Hampshire employment laws
