About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team in a K-12 alternative certification program. This role involves working with diverse student populations, developing innovative instructional strategies, and supporting teacher candidates through their certification process.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement alternative certification pathways for teacher candidates.
- Provide mentorship and professional development to new educators.
- Collaborate with school districts, universities, and educational organizations to align certification programs with state standards.
- Assess candidate progress through observations, evaluations, and feedback sessions.
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions on effective teaching practices.
- Maintain accurate records of candidate performance and program outcomes.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with administrative or leadership endorsement preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of K-12 teaching experience.
- Experience with alternative certification programs, teacher mentorship, or professional development.
- Strong knowledge of Michigan educator certification standards and requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including educators, administrators, and policymakers.
