MISTAFF is a collaborative effort of the Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators, Michigan Association of Superintendents & Administrators, Michigan Association of School Boards, Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals, Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association, and Michigan School Public Relations Association.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team in a K-12 alternative certification program. This role involves working with diverse student populations, developing innovative instructional strategies, and supporting teacher candidates through their certification process.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement alternative certification pathways for teacher candidates.
• Provide mentorship and professional development to new educators.
• Collaborate with school districts, universities, and educational organizations to align certification programs with state standards.
• Assess candidate progress through observations, evaluations, and feedback sessions.
• Facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions on effective teaching practices.
• Maintain accurate records of candidate performance and program outcomes.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with administrative or leadership endorsement preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of K-12 teaching experience.
• Experience with alternative certification programs, teacher mentorship, or professional development.
• Strong knowledge of Michigan educator certification standards and requirements.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including educators, administrators, and policymakers.
