CTE Paraprofessional (Instructional)

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED, some college preferred.
  • Pass a pre-employment test in math and language at a 12th grade level.
  • Experience in the automotive field is preferred.
  • Experience in the construction field is preferred.
  • Experience in the electronics field is preferred.
  • Enthusiasm for Career and Technical Education (CTE).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Enjoy working with adolescent students.
  • Computer literate.
  • Able to work with a variety of educational professionals.
  • Pass a background check and be drug free.

Reports To

  • CTE Instructor and CTE Building Principal of Career and Technical Education

Job Goals

Aid students in their success within Career and Technical studies.

Performance Responsibilities

  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Monitor and teach safety in the laboratory.
  • Assist the instructor in conducting CTE programs.
  • Model and teach exemplary workplace behaviors.
  • Devise strategies based on understanding of individual students.
  • Guide independent study, enrichment, and remedial work.
  • Alert the teacher to student issues or information.
  • Maintain ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  • Participate in in-service training programs.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated according to the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
