CTE Business Teacher

Full time, Monday – Friday; 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM. Number of school days: 194.

• Smaller caseload of students – typically 40 students instead of 180
• More support with two to three times the number of school counselors, free tutors for students, and labs that supplement teaching
• All tools and resources provided by Lifelong Learning, an educational services organization, with no personal financial investment required
• Ongoing professional learning, subsidized continuing education, and career advancement opportunities
• Close relationship with and support from area supervisors and leadership
• Holiday, vacation, and seasonal breaks

Responsibilities

The Career Technical Education (CTE) Business Teacher will design and deliver specialized instruction in business, marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, technology, and multimedia. Responsibilities include:

• Guiding students in developing marketable technical, academic, and soft skills to prepare for education, industry certification, or the workforce
• Providing a personalized instructional program with learning activities and experiences aligned to core academic standards
• Supporting students’ intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth
• Helping students meet diploma requirements and implement their post-secondary transition plan

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university
• Valid South Carolina Standard Teaching Certification in Business/Marketing/Technology CTE or CTE work-based certification program or enrolled in a State-approved educator preparation program with student teaching or eligible to apply for a South Carolina Career Technical Education Certificate
• Experience in a related business field
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other technology applications
• Ability to travel in the performance of job duties
