About the Role
The CT Technologist performs computed tomography (CT) procedures under supervision, utilizing advanced technology to aid in patient diagnosis across all ages.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and interventional CT studies while practicing radiation safety.
- Use sterile techniques when necessary and demonstrate proper patient positioning and technical settings.
- Conduct venipuncture and operate all CT equipment and support systems, including HIS, RIS, PACS, and teleradiography.
- Evaluate image quality, review patient history, and document studies accurately.
- Provide patient care with confidentiality, coordinate exams with departments, and communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families.
- Handle scheduling, participate in quality improvement initiatives, maintain equipment, and ensure a well-supplied work area.
- Administer drugs and biologicals as per procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited radiologic technology program with current certification or eligibility for certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Certification in CT required within 24 months of hire.
- Valid state medical radiographer license and CPR certification are mandatory.
