CT Technologist

About the role

The California licensed CT Radiological Technologist performs safe imaging procedures on all inpatient and outpatient age-specific populations in an acute care environment. This position interacts with other patient care departments, performs various radiographic exams, and processes images on archival systems. The role is professionally accountable for submitting high-quality images to PACS, participating in performance improvement activities, and demonstrating excellent customer service to patients.

Responsibilities include correctly identifying patients, following infection control and radiation policies, maintaining good body mechanics, and complying with all Medical Center and Department policies and procedures. The position also requires maintaining appropriate continuing education credits.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe imaging procedures on inpatient and outpatient populations.
• Interact with other patient care departments in the Radiology environment.
• Conduct various radiographic exams and process images using archival systems.
• Submit high-quality images to PACS.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service to patients.
• Correctly identify patients for procedures.
• Follow infection control, radiation policies, and good body mechanics.
• Maintain continuing education credits.
• Comply with all Medical Center and Department policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate teaching and leadership experience, including mentoring new employees and students.

Requirements

• Graduate of a JCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology training program.
• Previous experience in a healthcare environment (typically 2–5 years).
• Flexibility in scheduling, including rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to work at any UCSF Medical Center location as needed.
• Teaching and leadership experience, including Lead/Coordinator participation.
• Ability to teach both basic and advanced procedures.
• Active participation in mentoring new employees and students (excluding Per Diem staff).

Qualifications

• ARRT Licensure.
• CRT Licensure.
• Veni-puncture Certification.
• BLS (CPR) Certification.

Pay

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Placement within the salary range depends on work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement is guided by collective bargaining agreement rules.
