Job Summary

As our CT Technologist, you will deliver exceptional CT imaging services, providing excellent care to patients and vital support to physicians, fellow employees, and hospital staff. Every day you will perform CT scans with precision and compassion, ensure patient comfort and safety, operate advanced CT equipment, and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to produce high-quality diagnostic images.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver CT scans based on current protocols and/or radiologist recommendations. Scans include trauma/ER, perfusions, routine body, routine neuro, and interventional procedures.
  • Absolutely assist Interventional Radiologists proficiently during CT guidance procedures.
  • Accurately and proficiently perform work-ups such as perfusions and reconstructions.
  • Evaluate and determine the area of interest and type of scan to be performed on the patient, consult with the physician as necessary.
  • Act as a resource and role model for students, externs, and new staff members.
  • Aid Lead and Senior technologists with operations and patient workflow as requested.
  • Successfully complete other duties as assigned.
  • Show thorough knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and positioning relevant to CT scan procedures.
  • Show competency operating equipment, performing procedures, using the teleradiology system, and functioning as a radiologic technologist when requested.
  • Utilize good radiation safety practices for patients, self, and others by using available radiation protection devices.
  • Ensure badges are worn appropriately and readings are available. Practice good sterile technique when required and utilize universal precautions and other infection control practices as appropriate.
  • Show competency in injecting contrast media, if required.
  • Compile data and documentation to distribute scheduled and requested reports.
  • Establish and accurately maintain films/files, databases, coding practices, and records on an ongoing basis for the department.
  • Provide written documentation on the exam worksheet(s) the exams are being done. Indicate who performed the exam on the records.
  • Be an active member of committees or collaborative teams as required by duties.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively work with various end-users to effectively provide the needed information and training.

Required Job Requirements

  • Graduate from an AMA-approved school of radiologic technology and have at least two (2) years of prior radiologic technologist experience.
  • Successfully demonstrate competence in CT after cross-training or program completion.
  • Hold a Medical Radiographer license AZ, American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS), Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, and CT Radiology Tech: AZ, and Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology licenses.
  • Preferred: Hold a Registered Technologist Computed Tomography license.
