CT Technologist - (0.9 FTE)

About the role

This position involves performing various diagnostic imaging procedures, including CT scans, under the supervision of a radiologist. The role includes verifying patient information, interpreting scanning instructions, assessing patient risks, and operating CT scan equipment.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identification and procedure requested
• Correctly interprets doctors’ scanning instructions
• Assesses patient risk for allergic reactions to contrast media
• Reviews lab values before contrast media administration
• Explains effects and potential side effects of contrast media
• Starts IV and administers contrast media
• Maintains patient during contrast media administration
• Determines the need for and selects supplies, equipment, and positioning devices
• Provides explanations, instructions, and answers questions about exams and procedures
• Positions patients for exams, respecting their abilities and comfort
• Operates CT scan equipment
• Ensures proper image quality and transfers them to PACS
• Selects appropriate CT radiation exposure factors and uses lead protective devices
• Controls access to radiation areas
• Prepares and operates sterile and specialized interventional procedures
• Performs procedural timeouts

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year of experience in CT or successful completion of a CT cross-training program
• Graduate from an approved School of Radiology Technology
• Registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography within twelve months of hire
• A permit to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of Montana
• Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Maintain regulatory compliance with State of Montana, DNV, CMS, ARRT, and ASRT regulations and standards
