About the role
PRN position available with 8-hour night shifts at Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and ensure they are properly positioned on the CT table; explain procedures with empathy and address patient concerns or questions
- Operate CT scanners and X-ray machines to obtain images of targeted body parts; adjust scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure and maintain radiation safety at all times
- Monitor patients throughout procedures to ensure their comfort and safety
- Assist radiologists in interpreting images produced by CT exams; administer contrast agents or perform certain procedures as needed
- Perform quality assurance of CT scanners and X-ray machines to ensure proper function and accurate images
- Maintain radiologic supplies, ensure equipment is in good operating order, and follow infection control and hygiene protocols
- Maintain active registration status with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Qualifications
- One year of acute, clinical radiology experience preferred
- Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic/Fluoroscopic equipment required
- Extensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology required
- Radiology/CT license and fluoroscopy permit as required by State
- ARRT-CT Certification required
- BCLS (AHA) certification must be possessed and maintained upon hire
- Proficient computer skills
