Various locations across the greater Phoenix, AZ area. Must be willing to float to at least three HonorHealth locations and cover 12 shifts per quarter, including one winter holiday, one summer holiday, and one difficult-to-staff day.

This CAT Scan Technologist role performs diagnostic and therapeutic CT procedures under the direction of a radiologist, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
Responsibilities
- Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, and imaging site; protocols procedure with radiologist as needed.
- Transports patients to and from the exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment.
- Performs CT procedures and observes patient during procedure to ensure safety and comfort; administers contrast materials as required and initiates emergency response to contrast reactions.
- Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance, including image laterality marking and annotation as required by CT procedure protocols.
- Utilizes RIS, PACS, and other ancillary image management systems as needed.
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates daily workflow for the department’s activities.
- Maintains equipment in efficient operating order; performs and documents all required quality control testing and contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
- Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictate.
- Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff as needed.
- Maintains an orderly, clean, and safe environment for patients and staff; maintains stock and inventory as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Associate's Degree in CT physics and cross-sectional anatomy (preferred).
- More than 10 months of on-the-job clinical CT experience or 1 year of general radiology experience (required).
Qualifications
- AZ Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) OR AZ Certified Nuclear Med Technologist (CNMT) AND Certified CT Technologist (CTCT). A Temporary license is acceptable at hire; a permanent license must be obtained within twelve months.
- Current and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and licensure must be provided prior to start date OR current and valid NMTCB and licensure must be provided prior to start date.
- Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required).
