About the Role

Energea, a Chester-based renewable energy company, has hired its first Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee corporate finance, accounting, tax compliance, financial reporting, controls, and capital markets initiatives across the company’s management company, investment portfolios, and operating entities.

The CFO role is critical for Energea’s next stage of growth, with the position being filled after an extensive search to ensure the right cultural and professional fit.

The successful candidate, Peter Lenardos, will not fully relocate to Connecticut but will spend significant time in the Chester office during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Oversee corporate finance and financial reporting.
• Manage accounting, tax compliance, and internal controls.
• Lead capital markets initiatives across Energea’s management company, investment portfolios, and operating entities.

Energea is a renewable energy investment firm founded in 2017 by Mike Silvestrini and Christopher Sattler. The company allows retail and accredited investors to participate in solar projects globally, with minimum investments as low as $100.

Energea has sponsored, arranged, or managed nearly $500 million in total invested capital across 228 projects and 655 megawatts of capacity in six countries. The company serves 20,000 investor accounts and has delivered an average 12.12% return in dividends since inception.

Headquartered in Chester, Connecticut, Energea plans to expand its team by 10–15 employees by the end of the year, growing its workforce to 65–70 full-time employees. Some roles will be based in Connecticut, while others may be remote.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in corporate finance, financial reporting, and capital markets.
• Proven leadership in CFO or senior financial executive roles.
• Background in investment analytics, derivatives trading, or capital markets firms is highly valued.

About the Hire

Peter Lenardos joins Energea as its first CFO. He most recently served as Head of Investor Relations at Clear Street, a New York-based capital markets firm preparing for an IPO. Prior to that, he was CFO of investment analytics firm Quant Insight and Group CFO of OSTC Group Holdings, a global derivatives trading firm.

Earlier in his career, Lenardos was CEO of Cinnober Financial Technology, a publicly listed Swedish trading technology provider, and spent seven years as a Managing Director at RBC Capital Markets.
