CT Scan Technologist Per Diem
About the role
Responsible for producing cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. Interprets a physician's scanning instructions, administers contrast materials, prepares and operates the CT scan equipment, and positions the patient to capture the appropriate images.
Responsibilities
- Interprets CT Protocols and correctly positions the patient for the exam.
- Operates CT scanner equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation standards (ALARA).
- Evaluates CT scans for technical quality.
- Utilizes EPIC, Radiant, and PACS to schedule and transmit images to the Radiologist for interpretation.
- Prepares and administers contrast material using the power injector.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Accredited educational program related to the radiology field and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Associate's degree in Applied Science in Diagnostic Radiology.
- Licensed by the State in Diagnostic Technology.
Qualifications
CT Certification preferred.

Atlantic Health System's radiology departments provide state-of-the-art imaging services that accommodate a wide range of patient needs with the highest quality and safety. Many of our locations meet image gently® recommendations, meaning we "child-size" radiation doses for pediatric patients. Our medical team features:
- Board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologists specializing in breast imaging, cross-sectional imaging, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, muscular-skeletal imaging, pediatric imaging, and interventional radiology.
- Highly skilled technologists and registered radiology nurses providing additional expertise and support.
Radiology services are available at Chilton, Hackettstown, Morristown, Newton and Overlook medical centers, along with Goryeb Children's Hospital and a variety of outpatient locations. Services vary by location.
