Responsibilities
- Clean, stock, and prepare exam rooms for use.
- Perform routine cleaning and safety checks on equipment.
- Notify appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
- Document daily system quality control checks.
- Confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications.
- Perform and document high-quality CT and radiographic examinations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR and PACS systems.
- Educate patients about the exam and complete exams in a timely manner.
- Operate imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors.
- Adapt protocols for patients of all ages.
- Maintain infection control standards and use approved PPE and disinfectant agents.
- Follow department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare providers for appropriate imaging and patient care.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of radiologic experience required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography (ARRT-R) certification required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) certification preferred.
- Basic Life Support - CPR certification required.
- Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT) certification required.
Skills
- Effective communication (verbal and written).
- Ability to deal with a wide variety of individuals.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in MSOffice applications.
- Working knowledge of Cerner and/or Epic (asset).
- Ability to learn and use Radiology software packages, scanners, and workstations.
- Ability to follow departmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to maintain required registries and licenses.
- Knowledge of basic radiation safety concepts.
- Ability to complete exams in an acceptable time frame.
- Ability to assess, start, and confirm appropriate placement of IV’s for use in CT studies.
- Ability to assess, explain, and perform CT and XR studies on patients of all ages.
- Ability to learn and complete Reconstructions/Post processing.
Qualifications
- Past Reconstruction/Post processing skills preferred.
- Cardiac CTA reconstructions preferred.
