About the Role

The CT Radiologic Service Supervisor provides supervision to technologists in a radiology modality (e.g. X-ray radiography, ultrasound, MRI, mammography, and computed tomography (CT)). This role may also include supervision of radiology technical support staff. Responsibilities include overseeing employees, enforcing policies and procedures, and monitoring productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff productivity and performance.
  • Resolve or escalate daily clinical and operational issues.
  • Apply principles to an acute care setting to ensure operations meet regulatory standards.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant internal policies and external regulations.
  • Train and guide employees on radiology modality techniques.
  • Motivate and inspire staff to improve services.
  • Prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment.
  • Organize assigned staff and unit operations in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Coordinate schedules of patients, doctors, technicians, and nurses to serve patients in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians, researchers, radiology technologists, and other clinical staff.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues and software malfunctions to contact appropriate service personnel.
  • Solve problems and suggest solutions within defined procedures and policies through critical thinking.
  • Communicate technical radiology concepts effectively through verbal and written communication.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience within the field of Radiology.
  • Demonstrated subject matter knowledge of a radiology modality.
  • Strong knowledge of medical center, HR, and UC policies and processes.
  • Interpersonal skills to work with a variety of patient populations and show sensitivity.

Qualifications

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • ARRT CRT (if applicable to modality).
  • Modality Specific Certification (e.g., CT, MRI, RDMS, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of previous supervisory experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of radiology equipment to operate and monitor all relevant technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
