About the Role
The CT Tech I is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform procedures for a specified patient population. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Responsibilities
- Performs quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.
- Effectively manages resources such as supplies and equipment.
- Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.
- Performs other job functions as needed.
- Occasionally demonstrates job responsibilities to other Associates and observes/instructs student technologists.
Requirements
- Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology (Required)
- Registered Radiologic Technologist – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (Required)
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures.
- Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers.
- Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred).
- No prior work experience required (Preferred).
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- Medium work – exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
- Close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform activities such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, or extensive reading.
- Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
- Exposure to patient body fluids as well as hazardous or poisonous materials.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
