PRN (as needed) position at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.

About the role

Performs computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists. This position must perform at least 3 of the following procedures: biopsy, TAVR, coronary, watchman, extremity work for OR planning, ablations, or fiducial placement.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity.
  • Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Radiology Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy program.
  • No prior experience required.
  • ARRT-R certification (or equivalent) required at hire.
  • ARRT-CT certification (or equivalent) must be completed within 12 months of hire date.

Qualifications

Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA).

One of the following primary certifications:

  • ARRT-R Radiography – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • ARRT-T Radiation Therapy – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Technologist – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) – Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)

One of the following CT certifications:

  • ARRT-CT Computed Tomography – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Computed Tomography (CT) Credential – Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)

State-specific licensure:

  • Illinois: Radiologic Technologists – Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) or Radiologic Technologists – Temporary Accreditation – IEMA
  • Missouri or Oklahoma: No additional state license beyond the above certifications.
  • Wisconsin: Radiographer, Licensed – Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.

Pay

Pay range starts at $34/hour. Daily pay available. Shift differentials available for night, weekend, and additional shifts.
