About the role

This position provides a variety of support, including servicing walk-in customers, completing sales transactions, and performing material handling duties such as receiving, loading/unloading material, pulling/assembling orders, and inventory checks. Daily use of forklift and/or crane equipment may be required. A $750 sign-on bonus is available for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform customer service duties: assist walk-in customers, determine order requirements, answer inquiries, provide samples, complete sales transactions, and accept payments.
  • Resolve customer complaints, including returns and order errors.
  • Handle office administration tasks: process payments and receipts, reconcile DSRs and cash box, prepare bank deposits, balance petty cash, generate performance reports, update customer master files, and create vendor orders.
  • Enter customer orders, create plant/RDC orders, and complete stock replenishment orders.
  • Prepare sales slips and produce daily sales reports.
  • Perform warehouse duties: pull and assemble customer orders, verify outbound order accuracy, conduct inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor products, maintain displays, move and replenish material, and conduct daily cycle counts.
  • Receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, handle customer returns, and report damaged shipments for freight claims.
  • Operate crane and forklift equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility through sweeping, trash removal, restroom cleaning, and general office maintenance.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety rules and reporting accidents, unsafe conditions, or acts to management.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of customer service and warehouse experience.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Competencies: organization, math, time management, computer skills, attention to detail, customer service, and safety consciousness.

Physical demands

  • Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • May need to sit, climb, balance, talk, or hear.
  • Ability to regularly lift 15-30 lbs; occasionally lift up to 70 lbs (team lift required for materials over 70 lbs or longer than 36 inches).
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

Expected hourly pay rates range from $17.02 to $21.26 at the commencement of employment. Base pay is determined on an individualized basis and is part of a broader compensation package that may include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other short- and long-term incentive programs.
