CSew- Cutting Room Supervisor

About the Role

Responsible for the entire cutting room and shade mark area, focusing on quality, efficiency, safety, leadership, organization, and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control inspections on all fabric as received.
• Manage fabric inventory to ensure accountability for all received fabric.
• Work with the Manufacturing Manager on fabric shading issues to ensure uniform color during production.
• Cut goods as directed by the Manufacturing Manager, ensuring quality cuts to size.
• Document and track material usage as well as rejected material.
• Maintain and store hard patterns and markers in a safe place.
• Communicate with the Cutting Room facilitator to improve production flow, increase fabric yield, minimize recuts, and create workflow utilizing automated design and cutting equipment.
• Spread material on table using appropriate methods to ensure best yield and quality.
• Inspect and monitor fabric for quality defects during cutting operations.
• Control scrap, rework, and regraded goods to prevent them from entering the production stream.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all cutting room equipment.
• Inform the Manufacturing Manager when consumable items and repair parts are required.
• Assist the Manufacturing Manager and VP of Manufacturing Operations and Business Development in researching, planning, and implementing new products or projects.
• Train on and use the SOM App to enter production data on a tablet.
• Train all new personnel to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and quality of work.
• Follow Agency attendance policy and Manufacturing Manager’s instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness of the cutting room area.
• Responsible for receiving raw materials.
• Perform all other duties deemed necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in needle trades cutting processes preferred.
• Previous experience in supervisory and leadership roles required.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
