About the role

The CSD/IDG Test Technician performs functional testing of Constant Speed Drives (CSD) and Integrated Drive Generators (IDG) per Component Maintenance Manual (CMM). The role includes familiarization with test stands and related equipment, as well as routine, non-routine, and preventative maintenance on all test equipment in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Silver Wings Aerospace standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work assignments as determined by shop management.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with approved technical data, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Use appropriate testing techniques and calibrated equipment for the unit/part being tested.
  • Utilize proper test equipment or suitable alternatives and perform preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Record information and complete work assignments in compliance with the Inspection Procedures Manual and Quality Policies and Procedures.
  • Assist Department Manager and Engineers with new capability development for repairs.
  • Maintain open two-way communication with management and team members, sharing both positive and negative updates.
  • Provide units in a timely manner to meet company on-time delivery (OTD) deadlines.
  • Maintain personal and shop-calibrated tools in satisfactory operational condition.
  • Comply with all safety directives and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Read and interpret schematics and drawings.
  • Maintain test stand logs and perform maintenance on the stands.
  • Work overtime as required by production needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in aircraft manufacturing, installation, and repair/overhaul of aircraft components.
  • Familiarity with aircraft specifications as applied to final and in-process inspections.
  • Working knowledge of Federal Aircraft Regulations (FAR).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, Standard Repair Manuals (SRM), and Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM).
  • Must be capable of using standard tools, including but not limited to: screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchets and sockets, torque drivers and wrenches, multi-meters, soldering irons, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, flow meters, psi gauges, temperature measurement tools, and safety wire pliers.
  • Must provide your own tools.
