Overview of Responsibilities

The Test Technician I shall functional test CSD (Constant Speed Drive) and IDG (Integrated Drive Generator) per CMM. The CSD/IDG Test Technician shall familiarize himself with test stands and other test equipment related to the CSD/IDG. The CSD/IDG Test Technician shall also perform routine, non-routine and preventative maintenance on all test equipment according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Silver Wings Aerospace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform work assignments as determined by the shop management.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved technical data, to customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Use appropriate testing techniques, and calibrated equipment for the unit/part being accomplished.
  • Utilize the proper test equipment or suitable alternative and perform preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Record information and accomplish the work assignment in compliance with the Inspection Procedures Manual and Quality Policies and Procedures.
  • Assist Department Manager and Engineers with new capability development of repairs received.
  • Maintain open two-way communication with Manager and team mates appropriately sharing both good and bad news.
  • Provide units in a timely manner to meet company OTD deadlines.
  • Maintain personal and shop calibrated tools in satisfactory operational condition.
  • Comply with all safety directives and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
  • Be responsible for maintaining test stand logs and maintenance of the stands.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • You must be able to provide your own tools.
  • Must be capable of using standard tools to include but not limited to; screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchets and sockets, torque drivers and wrenches, multi-meters, soldering irons, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, flow meters, psi gauges, temperature measurement, safety wire pliers, or any other tool required for a particular maintenance function.
  • Experience in aircraft manufacturing, installation, and repair/overhaul of aircraft components.
  • Familiar with aircraft specifications as applied to final and in-process inspections.
  • Working knowledge of Federal Aircraft Regulations (FAR).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, Standard Repair Manuals (SRM), & component maintenance manuals (CMM).
  • Work overtime as required by production requirements.
