CSP Technician

Responsibilities

• Provides decontaminated and sterile supplies to all departments.
• Prepares, maintains, and coordinates surgical case supplies.
• Maintains inventory and availability of routine and special order supplies.
• Maintains smooth functioning of the central service area to support OR staff.
• Maintains quality testing of sterilizers and instrument loads.
• Performs services in a cost-effective manner.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some college education and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Certification in Central Service or previous experience in sterilization desirable but not required for initial employment.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training required.
• A good work and attendance record.
• Keyboard experience and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Physical Factors

• Medium work.
• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Must be able to tolerate prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Reachable in any direction.
• Stand, walk, kneel, bend, sit, stoop, and lift.
• Run in an emergency.
• Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range.
• Possess stamina to work prolonged shifts.
