About the Role

The Receptionist at CHCCAA plays a crucial role in advancing our mission to expand opportunities and build self-sufficiency for our community members. This position is the first point of contact for clients who visit the CAA office seeking assistance through CAA’s Community Services Programs. The Receptionist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing front desk operations, and ensuring smooth communication within the Community Services Department. The position supports the agency’s mission by fostering a welcoming and professional environment for all who enter. The ideal candidate will use their skills to embody our values and contribute to our vision of a thriving, self-sufficient community.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist clients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Issue visitor badges and register visitors as required.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, providing information about the programs and services offered through CAA’s Community Services department and connecting clients to the requested party.
  • Provide support to community services staff by assisting clients with completing applications, scheduling appointments for staff intake, and gathering necessary documentation for client processing.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and appointments.
  • Place outgoing calls to conduct client service surveys.
  • Coordinate with program staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain reception area in a clean and tidy manner to ensure it is presentable for the public.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and mail distribution.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and in compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Assist with special events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in office administration is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role preferred.
  • Experience working in a social services environment and familiarity with energy assistance programs is a plus.
  • Bilingual skills (e.g., English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including low to moderate-income families.

Schedule

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. May occasionally be required to work in different locations or evenings and weekends to support delivery of program services.

Working Conditions

  • Work Location: 1740 Langdon Farm Road, Cincinnati, Ohio.
  • Onsite work is in a typical office environment.
  • This position is not eligible for remote work.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment.
  • Ability to talk and hear.
  • Ability to see and read, write, and interpret written documents.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
