About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Crusher Laborer/Wash Plant Operator to join our team. This role primarily focuses on crusher laborer duties but also involves backing up Wash Plant Operators. The position is safety-sensitive and requires a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the crew leader/operator with crusher operations, ensuring awareness of surroundings and promptly reporting any issues.
- Promote a safe environment at crusher sites, adhering to MSHA and operating rules and regulations.
- Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Assist with setup and tear down of plants.
- Perform general maintenance, inspections, repairs, and service on equipment and plants as directed.
- Grease machinery weekly and clean debris from conveyor belts and around machinery.
- Use shovels to move material and operate equipment for loading when necessary.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections on equipment before startup.
- Perform general labor duties, including service work on equipment and grounds keeping.
- Assist other craft workers and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy.
- M.S.H.A. certificate (Part 46 or 48) or willingness to obtain certification (company-paid).
- Basic knowledge of welding and using a cutting torch.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Capability to work in adverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Ability to operate equipment on steep and rough terrains.
- Physical ability to walk up and down steep and rough terrain carrying construction materials.
- Punctuality and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Crusher Laborer/Wash Plant Operator.
- Background in operating heavy equipment, loaders, dozers, and excavators is helpful.
