Responsibilities
- Direct and control the movement of school children at an assigned intersection.
- Cooking the flow of traffic with the flow of the students and providing safe crossing of the roadways.
- Modeling appropriate behavior for the children.
- Choosing good times to stop traffic to create safe gaps for crossing.
- Standing in the street with a handheld STOP sign continuously displayed to show that pedestrians are in the crosswalk.
- Virtually directing children and families across the street.
- Recognizing and communicating potentially dangerous traffic situations and hazards in the environment.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Fingerprint (CHRC) Certification.
- Strong situational awareness including traffic patterns and laws.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with colleagues, students, families, and community partners.
- Professional, cooperative, and respectful of the beliefs, opinions, and confidentiality of others.
Schedule
This position follows the school year calendar. 2 hrs. per day.
