Crossing Guard, Centennial Elementary School
Job Description
Provides pedestrian safety to school children in street crossings at Elementary Schools.
Essential Functions
- Assists school children in crossing the street.
- Reports all accidents to police as soon as possible.
- Reports any road or safety hazards.
- Reports all violations.
Additional Qualifications
- Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work well with children and effectively communicate.
- Ability to interact with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
- Ability to maintain a good working relationship with the school authorities and the police department personnel.
- Ability to make common sense decisions.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Numerous distractions.
- Visual, auditory and ambulatory acuity important.
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
Salary and Benefits
$19.26 per hour, part time and not eligible for benefits/Range 17, 3 hours a day. Additional salary credit may be given for internal transfers and recent Greeley-Evans School District 6 rehires, up to $30.86 per hour plus benefits.

Education/Experience Required
- Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Knowledge of traffic and pedestrian safety laws.
- Valid Colorado driver's license.
- Any other combination of related education, experience, and training.
