Cross Platform Systems Engineer with Security Clearance

About the Role

We are seeking a versatile and customer-focused IT professional to support a mission-critical government customer. This position combines hands-on technical support with policy-level insight and strategic IT planning. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative, thrives in dynamic environments, and is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. This role requires an active TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on IT support and system administration for both Windows and Linux environments.
• Administer and support Microsoft SharePoint, including development support and user assistance.
• Manage virtual servers and cloud services within an AWS environment.
• Interface with stakeholders at all levels, including end-users, technical staff, and senior leadership, to resolve issues and improve IT operations.
• Conduct research and analysis of emerging IT and communication technologies to assess their impact on existing government policies and procedures.
• Assist in developing and implementing IT best practices aligned with organizational and mission goals.
• Ensure systems are compliant with security requirements and perform system hardening as needed.
• Support network engineering tasks, including configuring and troubleshooting network protocols (TCP/IP, etc.).

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven ability to work independently as a self-starter, with minimal supervision, while managing multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related tools.
• Strong customer support and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build positive customer relationships and contribute to team leadership.
• Demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft SharePoint development and administration.
• System administration experience in both Microsoft and Linux environments (Red Hat, Rocky, Windows).
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and virtualization.
• Basic network engineering knowledge, including TCP/IP and other protocols.
• Working knowledge of PKI and Unix/Linux system hardening is a plus.
• Experience with scripting (Bash, Python) is a plus.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 5 years of relevant work experience OR High School Diploma and 10 years of related experience.
• Security+ or CISSP certification is REQUIRED.
