About the role

Washington Gastroenterology (WAGI) is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our endoscopy ambulatory surgery center in a Per Diem role. The CRNA is responsible for patient care before, during, and after procedures, including assessment, anesthesia administration, monitoring, and post-operative recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient assessment for planned anesthesia treatment and reviews patient medical records and conditions.
  • Communicates with patient regarding anesthetic plan and answers any patient questions or concerns.
  • May prepare patient IV and set up monitoring devices to check blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation during the procedure.
  • Monitors patient's status throughout the procedure and adjusts medications accordingly.
  • Assists nursing staff during patient recovery, assessing for adverse effects to anesthesia care.
  • Responds to patient emergencies using standard procedures for maintaining patient airway, emergency drug and fluid management, and life support measures.
  • Manages patient records and restocks carts and supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) in Nursing (Required).
  • Master's Degree or work equivalent in Nurse Anesthetist.
  • Current NBCRNA Certification.
  • Current ACLS and BLS Certifications.
  • Current Washington State APRN and RN Licensure.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an unsupervised clinical setting preferred.
  • Anesthesia experience in a fast-paced outpatient setting preferred.

Physical Activities and Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and kneel occasionally.
  • Ability to assist patients, including supporting weight and positioning.
  • Ability to grasp small objects and manipulate medical instruments.
  • Ability to reach, including overhead and below waist.
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds frequently; occasional lifting of 25 pounds.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Local travel in the region may be required to other locations as needed.

Pay

This is an hourly position with an anticipated compensation of $180 per hour and a 10-hour shift minimum when scheduled.

Benefits

  • All employees are eligible to accrue PTO at a rate of 0.04 hours per payroll hour (1.6 hours for a 40-hour week), exceeding mandatory WA State and local ordinances.
