CRNA, Nurse Anesthetist
About the role

Your expertise will transform lives by providing anesthesia for children and families in diverse care settings, including our main hospital, surgery centers, cardiac catheterization lab, and radiology. Responsibilities
- Conduct preoperative evaluation and assessment.
- Prepare appropriate equipment for administration of anesthesia, including checking machines, small equipment, blood pressure cuffs, endotracheal tubes, and drugs. Report any malfunctioning equipment.
- Administer anesthesia under the direct supervision of a faculty or staff physician anesthesiologist, monitoring vital signs and other indicators of anesthesia's effects on patients. Ensure regular, frequent, and accurate recording of the patient's condition during and immediately following anesthesia.
- Conduct postoperative follow-up in consultation with the attending anesthesiologist. Accompany the patient to the PACU to ensure optimal condition and visit in-house within 24–48 hours following anesthesia to assess post-anesthetic recovery.
- With approval from the Department of Anesthesiology's Research Committee, direct and/or facilitate the development of research projects within the Department and/or the Medical Center, adhering to all regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
- Current CRNA certification and Ohio APRN licensure (or eligibility).
- Pediatric experience preferred but not required; comprehensive orientation and support provided.
- Master’s degree in a related field or Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree.
- Licensure and certification in accordance with CCHMC Delineation of Privileges.
- Multi-state licensure in addition to Ohio licensure may be required based on subspecialty.
Schedule
- Choose 32 to 40 hours per week.
- At least 50% of scheduled shifts must be either 10-hour (07:00–17:30) or 12-hour (07:00–19:30) shifts.
