CRNA Assistant Professor, Non Tenure, Part Time

About the Role

This non-tenure-earning faculty position will teach in the CRNA Program, engage in scholarly activity, mentor graduate nursing students, and contribute to college, university, community, and professional service in alignment with the university’s criteria for appointment at the Assistant Professor rank.

This part-time role supports the CRNA Program through teaching, student mentorship, and other academic activities consistent with the needs of the program and the faculty member’s assigned FTE. Responsibilities include didactic, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical residency instruction based on program needs and assigned effort.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CRNA Program through teaching, student mentorship, and academic activities.
  • Contribute to the educational mission of the College and participate in service and scholarly activities.
  • Provide instruction and mentorship in didactic, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical residency settings.
  • Participate in course and curriculum activities, and evaluate students and clinical learning experiences.
  • Engage in College, University, community, or professional service and scholarly activities as appropriate for the part-time appointment.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
  • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
  • Must hold, or be eligible for, licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Florida by the start date.
  • Must hold national certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
  • Current clinical practice as a CRNA/APRN in the state of Florida.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Minimum of one year of post-secondary teaching experience in a college or school of nursing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching and/or curriculum development in pharmacology, physiology, pathophysiology, nurse anesthesia, or related content.
  • Experience with technology-supported educational methods, including online and blended formats.
  • Experience with simulation-based learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, faculty, clinical partners, and community partners.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity through publications, presentations, external funding, or other relevant contributions.
