Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the mechanical, electrical, and BMS engineering teams to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Oversee the 24/7 shift team, ensuring effective communication and coordination to maintain continuous operations.
- Ensure the efficient and reliable operation of all critical systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, generators, UPS, and BMS.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance and emergency response.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure all operations and maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with SLAs.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure compliance and performance.
- Address and resolve any issues that could impact SLA compliance promptly.
- Manage and oversee critical infrastructure projects, including upgrades, expansions, and maintenance.
- Cook up with internal teams and external contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
- Ensure all operations adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and drills to ensure team readiness for emergency situations.
- Maintain documentation and records in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Develop and manage the budget for the critical services department.
- Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation and process enhancements.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to implement best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data centre operations or a similar critical infrastructure environment, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, generators, UPS, and BMS.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Certification in data centre management (e.g., CDCP, CDCS) is a plus.
