Critical Resource Specialist

About the role

The Critical Resources Specialist supports the Interior Production and Sales teams in parts and material ordering, plating, flammability duties, interior research, and financial reviews. This role requires maintaining a safe and organized work area and completing documentation in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate parts, materials, and plating, as well as flammability duties for assigned projects with minimal assistance.
• Support other specialists on the critical resources team as needed.
• Act as or work with a Qualified Inspector (QI) to pull plugs for SUB Inspections, determine similar substrates, and sign off vertical burn squawks upon project completion.
• Advise teams on maintenance burns as questions arise.
• Coordinate with the MRA Coordinator to schedule MRA, STC, and EASA burns, including tracking revisions of Test Article drawings, sample submissions, and testing timelines.
• Build samples and create FTRs from TA drawings.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure all required samples are captured on drawings and milestone dates are met.
• Deliver drawing copies to team leaders for redlining and ensure drawings match aircraft installations.
• Redline the Bill of Material (BOM) for drawings from the engineering team.
• Update the Sample ID Chart with new buildups or lot numbers for existing buildups for PUT lengths.
• Develop new substrate information and manage SER entry on the Sample ID Chart.
• Manage burn buildup fabrication and handling.
• Oversee core projects requiring burns to ensure tests are completed well before delivery.
• Research and order parts and equipment for projects, routing them to delivery areas per work orders.
• Maintain an accurate inventory list of received and pending parts.
• Monitor, track, and follow up on parts needed for in-process and future work orders.
• Communicate with sales and engineering teams to determine parts on order for upcoming jobs.
• Work with the material services team and team leaders to expedite parts and equipment deliveries.
• Coordinate with team leaders and project managers to close open purchase orders and expedite billing.
• Communicate with the Return Goods Administrator regarding parts accounting, control, and return of parts, cores, and materials for proper credit and tracking.
• Review past parts usage and recommend new stock items to the material services team.
• Resolve parts issues by communicating with team leaders, sales, engineering, material services, and other internal and external customers.
• Recommend updates and revisions to enhance and streamline inventory computer systems and user features.
• Process plating and rotables for shipping and receiving.
• Deliver world-class customer service by displaying clear communication, attentiveness, patience, positivity, and goal-oriented focus.
• Research, prepare, and sign off on various documents for record-keeping as required by Duncan Aviation procedures, manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, and FAA regulations (e.g., turnovers, removal sheets, flammability testing, W.O. Sheets, personal training logs).
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Respirator Fit qualified.
• Qualified Inspector (QI) certification.
• Regularly scheduled attendance.
• Ability to routinely lift 50 lbs., occasionally 100 lbs.
• Ability to read small print and hear sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies.
• Tolerance for repetitive motion, working with moving parts, vibration, confined spaces, heights above four feet, and exposure to products and materials associated with component maintenance.
• Tolerance for standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and sitting.
• Tolerance for working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments.

Qualifications

Experience levels for the Critical Resource Specialist role:

• Critical Resource Specialist I: Minimum one year of aviation interiors experience or equivalent. Proficiency with general computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and AS400.
• Critical Resource Specialist II: Minimum two years of aviation interiors experience or equivalent. Proficiency with general computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and AS400.
• Critical Resource Specialist III: Minimum four years of aviation interiors experience or equivalent. Proficiency with general computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and AS400.

Preferred qualities: customer service orientation, self-starter, multitasking and organizational skills, and an interest in aviation interiors.
