Critical Infrastructure Engineer I

About the Role

This is an entry-level position in the Regional Operations Team focused on preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment to ensure mission-critical uptime of 99.999% or higher.

Responsibilities

• 24x7 facility on-call responsibility.
• Monitor and maintain operations, maintenance, and repair of all mission-critical equipment and systems to achieve 99.999% uptime and 100% compliance with customer SLAs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, project plans, and other technical documents.
• Drive change toward operational excellence goals; identify constraints and propose solutions.
• Assist in disaster recovery "dry run" exercises and commissioning efforts.
• Maintain Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements and implement change windows per company policies.
• Assist in provisioning power for customer orders and other electrical modifications while maintaining a safe work environment.
• Assist with off-hours and weekend maintenance activities when required.
• Assist with reports on customer utilization, including space and power.
• Read Method of Procedures (MOP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all maintenance and operational aspects of the data center.
• Perform assigned facility rounds to ensure proper equipment operation, aesthetics, and cleanliness.
• Monitor and respond to alerts from facility equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• 1 year of data center experience.
• 1+ years of experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting/problem solving.
• Experience working with building automation.
• 1+ years of experience within a critical infrastructure environment.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAH units.
• Applicable military or trade experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical certifications (Associate degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline).
• 2+ years of experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.
• Engagement in management, soft skill, and emotional intelligence training.
• Meets or exceeds functional/technical depth and complexity.

Pay

The hourly salary range for this position is $29.50 - $31.50, depending on experience, location, and qualifications.
