About the role
Responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and local regulations. Assists CET3/4 technicians and maintains maintenance records.
Responsibilities
- Utilize safe working practices and apply lockout/tagout, SDS, and good housekeeping methods.
- Use common administrative and office software.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documents.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair new or replacement parts for existing mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Assist CET3/4 technicians with CET3 classified procedures.
- Conduct daily walk-throughs of facilities, documenting parameters like power availability, temperature, and humidity.
- Be conversant in site-specific processes and procedures, including procedure creation, reporting incidents, and executing drills.
- Understand and operate various systems and equipment, including MV/LV Distribution Boards, UPS, generators, chillers, and fire alarm systems.
- Maintain maintenance records as required by city, state, and EPA regulations.
- Interpret building codes and local and federal regulations, applying them as necessary.
- Identify required materials and parts for maintenance and repair.
- Understand the heating and refrigeration cycles and diagnose and repair issues within these systems.
- Apply knowledge of power density and HVAC system capacities, and perform cooling and heat load/loss calculations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 4+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance.
- Possess a Journeyman Electrician License, Journeyman HVAC license, or equivalent.
Desired / Advantageous Qualifications
- Knowledge of power density and HVAC system capacities.
- Experience with BMS and EPMS systems.
- Understanding of heating and refrigeration cycles.

- The ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including operating equipment and assisting in material transportation.
- Good vision, hearing, and communication skills.
- The ability to recognize problems and apply general rules to specific problems.
- The ability to see details at close range and hear and communicate in English.
- The ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
