Critical Facility Engineer

Salute is a leading provider of cutting-edge Data Center Infrastructure Services, dedicated to serving data center clients worldwide. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Critical Facility Engineer to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical, mechanical, and control system maintenance and operations with strict adherence to operating procedures (SOP/MOP/EOP).
- Cook up, supervise, and monitor activities from a 24/7/365 Facility Operations Center (FOC).
- Dispatch peers to investigate or respond to alerts from the FOC.
- Support FOC dispatch requests in the field.
- Supervise contractors, trade workers, and other vendors.
- Perform facility inspections.
- Participate in the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process for events, faults, and issues.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts on the programs and processes which are managed by the data center operations department.
- Complete a rigorous 8-month Critical Facility Engineering certification program.

Qualifications
- ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology; or Journeyman or Master license in the HVAC or electrical trade; or 2 years of experience in one of the mission-critical engineering operations roles below:
- U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Program
- U.S. Army Prime Power Program
- U.S. military aviation maintenance supervisor (E-6 to E-9 or commissioned officer)
- NERC System Operator (RC, BT, TO, or BI)
- Reactor Operator (RO) or Senior Reactor Operator (SRO)
- Data center Critical Facility Engineer
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience performing electrical, mechanical, and control system operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, controls, and fire suppression/alarm systems associated with mission critical environments.
- Experience working in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Familiarity with NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC, and IEEE standards.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks.
- Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly.
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors.
- Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses.
- Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables.
- Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow.
- Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection.
