About the role
The Critical Facilities Technician position at Iron Mountain is designed for individuals with a strong sense of urgency and dedication to both their team and the company's vision. This role operates in a 24x7 data center environment, providing technical and facility support.
Responsibilities
- Proactively support the safety of the environment and occupants and ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
- Maintain and oversee IMDC’s critical power, cooling/environmental, security & support systems to meet or exceed up-time service levels.
- Perform limited maintenance tasks to ensure smooth operation of the data center heating and cooling systems and overall facility.
- Monitor, resolve, and update all assigned service tickets using IMDC’s ticketing system, including trouble tickets and customer installations of electrical and physical equipment.
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment and inspect buildings, grounds, and all equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning operation.
- Proactively identify issues and take the needed steps to resolve them.
- Aid with service delivery tasks as needed.
Requirements and Competencies
- 0-2 years experience in a critical operations environment and/or data center experience preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of Chiller Plant systems, Trane, York, Multi Stack, Web Control BMS, STS switches, and UPS Maintenance bypass.
- Google Sheets and Google Classroom proficiency.
- Multi-tasking and attention to detail.
- Organization and prioritization skills.
- Dedication and desire to learn.
- Customer service mentality.
