CRITICAL CARE TECHNICIAN CHD/HFM, FMFH - FMF 3RD FLOOR MCU

Location: Menomonee Falls, WI (on-site at Froedtert Men Falls Hospital)

FTE: 0.9 (36 standard hours per week) | Shift: 07:00 AM – 07:30 PM | Holidays: Every other rotation | Weekends: Every third weekend rotation

About the role

The Critical Care Technician (CCT) assists the Registered Nurse with delegated tasks related to the acute care of the patient. Provides age-appropriate care in a culturally and ethically sensitive manner. Reports to the Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RNs on duty each shift. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of the Critical Care Tech course or equivalency within 6 months of hire
• Successful completion of a skill competency checklist (validated by a Registered Nurse)
• Successful completion of arrhythmia recognition course and monitor-room orientation within 6 months of hire for staff in the FWBH MCU and FMFH 2nd-floor MCU (candidates with prior monitor-technician experience may complete a written competency test instead)
• State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification or currently enrolled in a nursing program with documentation from an accredited school showing successful completion of the basic nursing course that meets Wisconsin administrative-code criteria and at least one acute-care medical/surgical clinical rotation
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or AHA-approved equivalent within 90 days of hire
