Critical Care Physician Assistant
Qualifications
- Board Certified Physician Assistant
- Two years of experience as an independent provider in the ICU (with procedure logs)
- Montana Physician Assistants must demonstrate completion of 8,000 or more documented practice hours
- Active Montana license and DEA preferred
- Authorized to work in the United States
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the cardiothoracic surgeon, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, consultants and other hospital team members to deliver high quality, evidence-based critical care services
- Perform comprehensive assessments and implement patient treatment plans
- Perform bedside procedures within scope of practice including central line and arterial line placement and intubation
- Manage mechanical ventilation in collaboration with respiratory therapy
- Participate in goals of care discussions and family communication
- Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives as determined
Schedule
ICU coverage is 12-hour day. Scheduling ICU coverage is 12-hour day Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider 7 a.m. -7 p.m. working in collaboration with Sound tele-ICU physician. Average of 15 shifts per month, modified block shift schedule.

Rewards and Compensation
Annual salary, $200,000 plus based on 15 12-hour shifts per month. Full benefits offered. Commencement bonus paid in first paycheck.
