Critical Care Paramedic (CCT)

Superior Ambulance Service, founded in 1959, is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. With over 4,000 licensed EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses, we operate a fleet of more than 800 ambulances across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. We also provide Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed-wing emergency medical transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients in the transport environment under the direction of the Program Medical Director and referring/receiving Physician, following Critical Care policies, protocols, and standards of care.
• Autonomously evaluate critically ill or injured patients of all age groups (pediatric through adult), deliver therapeutic and emergency interventions, and prepare patients for transport from hospitals or accident scenes.
• Maintain clinical proficiency across all aspects of the Critical Care Division’s scope of practice, including neurological, cardiac, pediatric, obstetrical, and traumatic emergencies, as well as other patient populations transported by the division.
• Maintain clinical competency in critical care procedures and equipment, such as ventilators, IV pumps, dopplers, chest tubes, hemodynamic monitoring, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, ventricular assist devices, Impella cardiac assist devices, transcutaneous/transvenous pacers, external ventricular drains, and advanced airway management.

Requirements

• 2 years of current ALS experience.
• Current Critical Care certification.

Pay

USD $27.26 - USD $33.00 per hour. Rates are based on years of experience and full-time scheduled templates.
