Critical Care Anesthesiologist
Job Summary
The Department of Anesthesiology at The University of Wisconsin is recruiting a Critical Care Anesthesiologist primarily to provide clinical anesthesia care with teaching opportunities to residents and medical students. If appointed on the CHS track, duties will also include education and research components. This position is full or part-time FTE 80-100%. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Participate in administrative, and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
- Work in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

The Department of Anesthesiology is part of the School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Critical Care Anesthesiology. Established in 1927 by Ralph M. Required Qualifications
- WI medical license by start date of position.
- Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology by start date of position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Duties for appointment to the Clinician Teacher (CT) track: Provision of clinical anesthetic care to surgical patients (i.e. working in the operating room, plus evening and weekend call) in an anesthesia team model.
- Duties for appointment to CHS track: Major teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students in the operating room, and didactic sessions. Primary emphasis of teaching will be in general anesthesia procedures and techniques, or in area of subspecialty training.
- Provision of clinical anesthetic care to surgical patients (i.e. working in the operating room, plus evening and weekend call) in an anesthesia team model or personally performed anesthesia.
- Opportunity for participation in clinical research for interested candidates.
Education
An MD, DO, or equivalent is required by start date of the position.
