Crisis Worker Training Opportunity - Sex Abuse Treatment Ctr
Job Summary
The Hawai‘i Pacific Health Research Institute (HPHRI) is seeking a Crisis Worker Trainee to join the Sex Abuse Treatment Center (SATC) at Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children. The SATC is a statewide program established to provide treatment services for survivors of sexual assault, prevent sexual violence, and advocate for public policy changes.
About the Role
The Crisis Worker Trainee will undergo a comprehensive training program to prepare for the role of Crisis Worker. This includes both didactic and on-the-job training. Upon successful completion, trainees will transition into the Crisis Worker position and become an integral part of the SATC's system of care for victims.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, front-line intervention and support services to adults and youth who have been sexually assaulted.
- Offer crisis support to sexual assault victims and their families both in person and over the phone.
- Aid individuals in reporting to the police if appropriate.
- Coordinate the acute forensic examination of sexual assault victims.
- Collaborate with SATC physicians to provide medical-legal services addressing the medical concerns of survivors following victimization.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and current Hawai‘i auto insurance.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Social Science or related field preferred.
- Counseling experience preferred.
